Some simplifying was excellent, as was some of the solving equations.

EVERYONE needs to look again at expanding and factorising, so that is what you should focus your revision on.

Any questions just post below.

Changing the subject

Changing the subject is a high level question and requires all your prior algebra knowledge

Here you add 4 to both sides because you want to find what y is on its own

Now we know what 2y is but we want to know what y on its own is, so we divide through by 2

So we have y on its own and we are done

This blog is designed specifically for Mr McGuinness’ current year 11’s, as a way for students, parents and teachers to stay in touch and keep on tough with everything that is required of them.

Things to note this week:

Tuesday- Revision class 3:00pm – 4:00pm
Wednesday- Revision class 3:00pm- 4:00pm
Thursday – Parents evening

Year 11 are currently working on solving equations, and should be using their time at home to complete homework, revise the topic of algebra or look at past paper questions on the website method maths where they use the centre I.d cab, then their first name with a capital letter is their username and the password is their surname beginning with a capital letter.
